This touring Glass Society Of Ireland exhibition is kindly supported by DCCI, Jerpoint Glass and The National Botanic Gardens. We are very grateful for the expertise of our three jurors -Síobhan Doyle, Caroline Madden and Anna Moran.
Making connects us with the world, through the raw materials we shape.
Being a craft practitioner means being part of an interconnected network, sharing skills over generations. Yet, making can often be solitary. This ebb and flow between connection and separation is a familiar rhythm for many makers. ‘Connecting’ invites us to reflect deeply on the linkages that sustain us. In a time of division, the works displayed ask us to consider what role craft, and especially glass, has to play in creating a more connected world.
