For the past three years I have taken part in DesignCIRCLE, now run by Oide Creativity, the programme pairs teachers with designers, makers and artists to create peer learning groups.
This year was kicked off with an inspiring talk by Maser at the National Museum in Collins Barracks, followed by meeting the teachers in our group.
Over five online sessions we explored the idea of transformation. Each person created individual experiments and protypes which were then presented and discussed at the group session.
The emphasis is on process and for many of the teachers it is an opportunity to reengage with their personal artistic practice. As a maker I found the experience very rewarding. There is a balance to be found between leading and holding space, allowing the groups to inhabit different roles throughout the sessions as each person adds their own skills and expertise to our collective learning.
